General Summary
Campus police officer responsible for law enforcement, security and emergency response for Odessa College students, employees and property.
Specific Position Duties
Maintain security of the campus buildings and grounds on a scheduled basis; Provide security at campus functions and activities as requested; Assist faculty, staff, students and members of the community during emergencies; Cooperate with state, city and county law enforcement officers and their respective agencies. Perform other duties assigned by the Chief of Police and/or Dean of Administration.
Minimum Qualifications
High school graduate/GED. Certified as a peace officer required. High moral character and knowledgeable about law enforcement as demonstrated from references and other sources during intensive background check. Ability to pass Work Steps physical assessment for police officers. Must continue to maintain appropriate physical conditioning while employed. Must meet college requirements as an authorized driver. Must live within a 20 minute drive of Odessa College campus. Flexibility to work nights shift, weekends and holidays. Reliable, dependable and on time. Qualified references to evaluate an applicant’s qualifications and prior work experience.
Work Hours: Flexible to include nights, weekends and holidays. Overtime pay is available.
