What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Project Manager position at OEC?
OEC Construction is a leading specialty contracting company based in Boise, ID. We are looking for a talented, entrepreneurial Project Manager who is looking for growth and upside. This position reports to the company President.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead
- Profit and loss responsibility for projects
- Oversee project from procurement to execution
- Build brand
- Work with team on strategic initiatives to grow company
2. Manage
- Manage a team of supervisors, project engineers and installers
- Mentor and train junior staff
- Manage people as well as the project
3. Solve Problems
- Solve construction issues
- Determine solutions to meet budgets
- Communicate with general contractors when issues arise
4. Technical resource for scope of work after OEC awarded project
a. Review OECs bid and verify scope of work on construction projects
b. Oversee submittals process and look for value engineering opportunities
c. Create timeline for project implementation
d. Communicate with GC all details of project from beginning of submittal process to end of project
e. Track product and verify correct product on hand for projects
f. Implement a detailed pass off process to field superintendent
g. Become proficient at accurately and efficiently evaluating risk to budget in material and labor costs comparing bid to contract
h. Actively manage change orders and changes to conditions
i. Create and manage change orders
5. Become a product expert
a. Understand the various manufacturers and products for division 10 and 12
b. Develop a deep knowledge of materials and installation to successfully complete projects
c. Expert resource in evaluating substitutions enabling us to be competitive and profitable
d. Regularly complete continuing education in sales, product knowledge and business development
Requirements
a. Bachelor’s Degree in project management or related field
b. 5 years of construction experience
c. High fluency in reading construction plans
d. Fluency in Bluebeam
e. Organized and detail oriented
