The GS-09 salary range starts at $68,405 per year. The GS-11 salary range starts at $82,764 per year. If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.
This position has a positive education requirement to verify qualifications. If selected, an official transcript will be required prior to appointment: Applicants must submit a copy of their college or university transcript(s) and certificates by the closing date of announcement.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR PERFORMANCE AUDITORS:
You must have either A or B:
A. Degree in auditing, or in a related field such as business administration, finance, public administration, or accounting.
OR
B. Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in Performance Auditing, or an equivalent combination of performance auditing experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional auditing knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following:
Additional Requirements for Qualification at the GS-11 level:
In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is work involving the identification and review of program data and comparing it to regulations, policy, procedures, or other program criteria; and experience performing reviews in accordance with auditing standards.
OR
A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or have successfully completed 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. To be creditable, such education must be in a course of study that directly reflects the job-related competencies necessary to perform the duties of this position.
OR
A combination of directly related graduate level education and appropriate specialized experience that together meet the qualification requirements of this position.
