Position Description
The position will work closely with the other staff and management to assist with grant proposal development, writing, and coordination. The position will manage and track the grant proposal process and provide regular updates to management. Position will include preparation, writing, and editing grant proposal submissions in accordance with grant, industry and/or agency requirements. A key responsibility of this position is the tracking of grant application development and completion to ensure deadlines are met. This will require the accurate tracking of key steps with associated time frames and both internal and external deadlines.
This position will be called upon to provide summary updates on agency grant opportunities and current efforts.

Subject to early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays at times, depending upon the project or workload.
Salary:
Commensurate with experience, based on 26 pay periods.
Physical Demands And Environmental Exposure:
Most assignments will be performed in an office, meeting, or operations command center environment, but some field work may be required. May be required to work extended work hours during activation of disaster recovery operations for an unspecified length of time (varies based on the extent of the event).
This position requires bending, stooping, and lifting to 25 lbs., frequent walking, standing, sitting, reaching, and ascending/descending stairs.

- Develop and write grant proposals to federal, state, foundations, and other grant-awarding organizations.
- Assemble and submit grant requests, including letters, proposals, budgets, and presentations.
- Maintain calendar to ensure timely submission of letters of inquiry, proposal deadlines, and reports.
- Prioritize projects to keep multiple projects moving in a timely manner, meet deadlines and manage multiple proposals.
- Act as the project manager and coordinates all grant submissions.
- Timely prepares and submits grants reimbursement packages, Drawdown, Journal Entries, etc.
- Assists with special projects & must be willing to perform other grant related duties as assigned and deemed necessary by management.
- Coordinates with other divisions and responds to requests for information.
- Establishes and maintains various in-house spreadsheets and other grant tracking tools.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education
- High School diploma or GED equivalency
- Two (2) years of professional experience with grant proposals
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of grant administration and grant writing skills.
- Proficiency in the use of MS Office and ability to learn various grant submittal interfaces and websites.
- Ability to plan and organize work, perform under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external sources and keep management informed.
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills
- Ability to analyze and interpret data for accuracy and be detail oriented.
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
Preferences
Education
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Four (4) years of professional experience with grant proposals
- Knowledge of federal and state grants related to public infrastructure (roads, drainage, technology, parks, safety, etc.)
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent presentation skills
- Experience in preparation of project budgets.
