POSITION: VHS SITE COORDINATOR

Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • 48 college credits or pass the para test
  • Highly qualified para-professional status
  • Drivers License

  • Computer proficiency
  • Self-motivation, sound judgment, and the ability to problem solve
  • Ability to work in a highly interactive environment

REPORTS TO: Virtual High School Principal or designee

Job Goal

The Shannon County Virtual High School (VHS) Site Coordinator is responsible for maintaining VHS equipment and delivering Virtual High School (VHS) courses. The VHS Site Coordinator, as part of the Curriculum and Instruction Team, is responsible for facilitating Virtual High School course work, monitoring course completion, administering pre-assessments, and making contacts to support students encountering difficulties in completing one or more courses.

Specific Responsibilities

  • The VHS Coordinator provides or coordinates tutoring for students as the need arises.
  • Course facilitation, administration of pre-assessments, monitoring of course progress and completion, and providing assistance/tutoring and other duties as assigned.
  • Works with Curriculum team and Virtual High School faculty to ensure courses are tied to state and/or national standards.
  • Works with Oglala Lakota County VHS Registrar to support grading and registration processes.
  • Works with team to set guidelines and provide support for reviewing and monitoring course delivery.
  • Participates in other Virtual High School projects and school-level activities as required.
  • Maintains proficiency in new platforms and programs as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year will be established by the Oglala Lakota County School Board.

EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated by the Virtual High School Principal or designee
