Position Summary
Our Greenville, SC office has the opportunity for an experienced Applications Analyst II to join the Firm’s expanding practice. The Applications Analyst II is responsible for assisting in supporting the full systems life cycle for the enterprise business systems of the Firm, including the firm’s document management system. Analysts will provide application maintenance and support to minimize service disruption and facilitate operations. Activities include, but are not limited to involvement with systems installation, integration, maintenance, upgrades, patch installation, configuration, troubleshooting and diagnosing root cause for problems, performance monitoring, a firm understanding of SQL scripting and stored procedure creation and management. Additional duties include working with related process stakeholders to identify and resolve related problems and issues as well as realize efficiencies as a result of process and systems improvements. This position will also serve the role of project manager for some if not all related activities. Candidates must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, as application analysts work closely with business systems support analysts and other specialists, and occasionally train new employees and write technical reports. This position will participate in these tasks with limited supervision and direct execution, as well as through coordinating, overseeing, and delegating with and to Technology department resources as well as external vendors, service providers, contractors, and consultants.
Essential Functions
- Applications Administration
- Installation, configuration, upgrading, patching, and maintenance of systems programs, modules and related system software packages.
- Troubleshooting of problems related to software performance and functionality and assist in determining root cause of issues.
- Assist with training of new IT staff and provide expert advice and support to peers and other departments across the organization.
- Assist with defining application support standards and processes and writing the related documentation.
- Research and propose modifications and enhancements to existing applications to improve their functionality or address any issues that arise.
- Vendor management: Coordinates with software providers and related vendors to schedule upgrades and related services and problem resolution.
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Office platform is required
- Systems Administration
- Monitoring server performance and availability for related servers.
- Coordination of server hardware and operating system maintenance with appropriate stakeholders.
- Oversite of backup operations and strategy.
- Represents systems requirements to parties who are responsible for development and supporting related disaster recovery and business continuity strategies. Ensures same are appropriate, effective, and periodically tested.
- Monitor and review system event logs to proactively manage server environment.
- Database Development Components
- Write SQL language queries to support systems applications as needed, including but not limited to select, insert and delete statements and stored procedure creation and maintenance.
- Perform data analysis to facilitate identifying and resolving issues and problems.
- Assist with data integration and data migration activities.
- Systems Analysis
- Perform systems analysis to ensure that integrated systems are working properly.
- Work with other departments to resolve systems issues.
- Perform testing functions on all related systems.
- Works with appropriate parties in the use and maintenance of correction and transport systems activities.
- Develop test plans.
- Schedule and perform tests to measure and improve the quality of various IT solutions, and to make sure that they perform as specified.
- Make recommendations about system components sizing.
- Analyze systems performance.
- Business Analysis
- Work with stakeholder departments to determine systems and software requirements.
- Assist with the development of systems and software related solutions for process related problems and issues as identified by stakeholders.
- Project Management
- Function as lead or member (where needed and appropriate) and technical liaison for systems and related systems projects.
- Establish deadlines.
- Provide status updates.
- Document project information.
- Coordinate with other project resources.
Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer technology, management information systems, or related fields of study or equivalent experience. At least 5 years serving in a similar capacity administering an enterprise level system. ITIL certification a plus.
- Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience working with Windows Server, software installations and upgrades, supporting enterprise applications in a production environment and working with Microsoft SQL Management Studio (SSMS), as well as, experience with an enterprise document management system. ITIL certification is a plus. Individuals should demonstrate the following knowledge areas, competencies, and experience;
- Applications Administration – Client/server database applications. Data integration techniques.
- Knowledge of the following platform/s a plus: Intapp, Aderant, UiPath, Docusign API
- Vendor management – Consultant engagement and management. Scheduled maintenance activities, upgrades and patches, familiarity with Event and Impact Management solutions, document Management System.
- Communication – Actively listens and gets clarification. Responds to inquiries quickly with professionalism and tact. Writes clearly and informatively. Edits work for errors. Able to read and interpret information accurately and concisely. Able to effectively communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical staff.
