Overview:
OHC is currently accepting resumes for a board certified Physician Assistant with a strong training and/or experience in Gynecologic Oncology. This role will join the Gynecologic Oncology team seeing patients in partner with our GYN physicians in office and in the operating room. Through a team based care approach, they will educate patients on treatments, assist in the operating room and provide post-operative care, build patient relationships through long term follow-up clinic and provide other general support to maintain the high level of care our patients are accustomed to. While oncology experience is preferred, a heart of service and a desire to continue the mission will help you find success.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for patients in tandem wtih physician and care team.
- Initiates and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family response and prescribes therapies as indicated.
- Performs procedures and post-operative care with minimal supervision.
- Assesses patient/family needs and provides education.
- Promotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
- Often incorporates evidence-based research into clinical practice.
- Solid knowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements.
- Completes patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion.
- Likely to provide case management for patients and their families.
- Sometimes serves as a resource for nursing staff by providing information being studied in clinical trials.
- May provide palliative care for the patient and their families as needed.
- May promote/provide staff education
- Responsibilities may include rounding at affiliated hospitals, weekend or after-hour calls
- May mentor new advanced practice providers
- May precept APP students
- Other duties as assigned
The ideal candidate has:
- Successfully completed an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) certification.
- This position typically requires 2 -3 years of experience as a practicing Physician Assistant, preferably in Gynecologic Oncology.
- Current state license as a Physician Assistant in practicing state.
- Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
