You’re a jack of all trades and a master of maintenance.
You’re skilled enough to do some big things (electrical and plumbing repairs) and some small (changing light bulbs, hanging pictures) – and you’re happy to do both. You prefer a friendly community setting rather than an impersonal business. You keep our community running smoothly and knowing how much you are helping the staff and residents makes your work more satisfying. If you’d love to help us keep our communities well-maintained, beautiful, and safe, we believe you’d make a great Maintenance Grounds Associate at Ohio Living.
Why Ohio Living is different
- The more variety the better. You’re knowledgeable in many areas of maintenance and you love to share your skills. We have plenty of systems for you to take care of, which means your days will all be unique and interesting.
- No task too big or small. If you can handle it, we’ll let you. In addition to the big tasks, you might be asked to unclog a toilet, do a small paint job or even some groundskeeping or light snow removal.
- The community’s resource. You’ll become a valued member of our community and we will rely on you. It’s much more rewarding to build those relationships than it is to work on a job site or in an empty office building.
- Safety is paramount. Everything you do will add to the comfort and safety of residents and patients. Making sure call lights in patient rooms work is paramount. Helping with security is another area where you can assist.
- Attractive pay and benefits. We offer everything you expect, plus a retirement plan, paid time off, education assistance, pay advances up to $500, recognition programs and free meals.
What you’ll do
You could perform routine, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, planting flowers, maintaining the garden, weeding, HVAC, painting and finishing and maintenance on facilities, equipment, grounds, parking areas and sidewalks at our facility. No need to worry – we’ll provide the on-the-job training you need. If a project is too complex for your skills, we’ll call in professional contractors. In addition to maintenance, you may occasionally be required to serve as backup to security staff.
What it takes
- One year of experience in a maintenance position
- Experience and knowledge in several of these areas makes you an ideal candidate: HVAC, boilers, compressors, generators, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, blueprints and building codes and safety regulations
- HVAC certification, Boiler Operator license or Steam Engineer license are pluses
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
