Commercial Lines Farm Service Specialist Trainee

General Summary: Services agency force and Commercial Lines Underwriting department through Service Center activities in order to provide exceptional service standards for our customers.

A day in the life of a Farm lines service specialist:

1. Receives, reviews, and evaluates updated client data; Enters updated data on computer; Communicates with agent if additional information is needed; Refers unacceptable – and/or exceeded

letter of authority - client data to Underwriter.

2. Receives and services incoming communication from external customers and business partners (phone, email, chat, mail etc.).

3. Assists with troubleshooting and answering questions pertaining to the functionality within Agent Access, Ohio Mutual’s online agency portal and any other customer-facing portal as needed.

4. Reports and resolves issues pertaining to the Service Center and its functions.

5. Works in a team environment to promote and support unit, department, and organizational goals; communicates effectively, gets along with co-workers, and deals with colleagues effectively

and professionally.

6. Quotes certain classes of new business.

7. Supports our corporate and departmental Strategies on a Page as needed.

8. Performs other duties as assigned.

Marginal Functions:

• May perform special projects as assigned.
• Enters non-standardized work into inventory log.
• Participates in continuous improvement events, including team huddles and problem solving initiatives for the Commercial Lines Service Center team.

You would be a good fit for the position if:

1. You have high School diploma or equivalent. College Degree in business or related major is a plus.

2. General knowledge of insurance and Personal Lines underwriting guidelines.

3. Continual involvement in industry-related education.

3. Good interpersonal communication skills to work effectively with other associates; Demonstrates a strong customer experience acumen.

4. Concentrates and pays close attention to entry detail, including proofreading.

5. Effectively manages frequent interruptions.

6. Operates various office equipment; Knowledge of Microsoft office products and the ability to learn new technology platforms.

8. Listens, interprets, and accurately keys information while on phone.

9. Ability to process and handle information with confidentiality.
