Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Essential Job Functions:
- Provides clinical support to providers by preparing patients for medical examinations.
- Works under direction of health care providers and health education team to ensure that patients receive basic education/instruction on prenatal and chronic disease processes.
- Recording appropriate information in patients IE: chief complaint and relevant discussions with patient, vital signs, and various measurements such as height, weight, or head circumference.
- Advocates the timely delivery of health care to patients. IE: Prompt rooming of patients and actively monitoring wait times.
- Performs key clinical skills:
- Blood Pressure, Pulse, Respirations, Temperature, Pulse Ox
- Height and Weight
- EKG
- Urinalysis, Urine Pregnancy Tests
- INR, Blood Glucose finger sticks, Hemoglobin A1C
- Audiometry test, Vision test
- Strep test, Covid-19 test
- Hemoglobin finger stick test
- Lead finger stick test
- Oxygen Tanks
- Peak flow
- Perform or assist with treatments under Provider direction.
- Administer medications to patients under the direct supervision of the Provider.
- Obtain diagnostic testing and patient specimens under the supervision of the Provider.
- Sterilizes instruments and maintains equipment per policy.
- Monitors tracking systems IE: pap, mammogram, immunizations, referrals, control testing, and no shows.
- Download and task phone messages to the appropriate Provider.
- Call in prescriptions under the guidance of the provider.
- Schedules any required referrals. Tracks all relevant data.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment per OSHA guidelines and adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
- Other duties as assigned, up to and including travel to other locations that may be required. Mileage is reimbursed per policy.

Education and Experience:
- Medical Assistant school diploma/certificate
- Medical Assistant Registration upon hire and maintained during employment
- Minimum of 1 year experience clinical experience (preferred)
- BLS CPR
