Job Summary:
The full-time Women’s Lacrosse Assistant Coach at Ohio Northern University assists the Head Coach with the daily operation of the women’s lacrosse program in the NCAA Division III and the recruitment of student-athletes. Perform additional coaching or administrative assignments in the department as requested.
Scope:
Support the Athletic Department through serving as an Assistant Lacrosse Coach.
Principal Responsibilities
Assist the Head Coach with daily operation of the lacrosse program and recruitment of student-athletes, specifically: Duties will include, but are not limited to:
Coaching
- Assisting the Head Coach with daily practice planning.
- Assisting the Head Coach with game decisions and providing player feedback and evaluation.
- Performing video analysis and scouting of opponents.
- Assisting and mentoring student athletes with academic progress, course selection, campus involvement and social/community outreach, and other issues related to the college experience.
Recruiting
- Recruiting quality student-athletes both on campus and at various recruiting events throughout the year.
- Managing recruiting databases.
- Scheduling recruit visits.
- Attending recruiting events and evaluation of prospective student-athletes.
Marketing/Communication
- Designing and distributing recruiting letters, marketing materials and correspondence throughout the year.
- Assisting with team marketing and social media.
- Communicating with Sports Information Office with appropriate information for publications and press releases.
- Communicating and working with other departments across the athletic department and throughout the university.
Administrative
- Assisting the Head Coach with coordinating and managing game day operations.
- Planning travel and meals.
- Assisting the Head Coach in daily administrative tasks.
- Attending department meetings.
- Abide by the University, OAC and NCAA rules and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
- Excellent knowledge of all tactics
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of Hudl and Frontrush preferred
- CPR and First Aid Certified or the ability to get certified in a timely manner
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Four to five years of playing and coaching experience at the intercollegiate level
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree preferred.
