Assistant men coach

Job Summary : The Assistant Coach of Men’s & Women’s Cross Country / Track & Field assists with overseeing those teams and performing a variety of related responsibilities.

Several of the chief tasks include assistance with recruiting, developing student-athletes, planning, and facilitating workouts.

Scope : ONU is searching for a part-time, Assistant Coach of Men’s & Women’s Cross Country / Track & Field Principal Responsibilities

• Provide pre-season and in-season assistance
• Coaching for practices and meets as assigned by the head coach
• Participate in coordinating strategy, and planning meetings of the coaching staff
• Assist in program statistical and film analysis
• Assist in team travel arrangements
• Participate in student-athlete evaluation
• Assist in contacting prospective student-athletes through phone calls, social media, and correspondence with high school coaches, alumni, and faculty
• Participate in direct communication with prospective student-athletes
• Participate in the on-campus recruiting process through luncheons, meetings, etc. with prospective student-athletes and their parents
• Participate in those activities sponsored by the Admissions Department
• Assist in monitoring the matriculation status of prospective student-athletes
• Assist in scheduling procedures for contests and officials
• Assist in the administrative paperwork associated with the sport
• Assist in facilities and equipment management
• Assistant in the inventory and maintenance of equipment, uniforms, etc.
• Participate in the academic counselling of student-athletes
• Abide by all the policies and regulation establish by the University, the Director of Athletics and the head coach
• Assist in the administration of camps, clinics, and symposiums in the sport
• Assist with public relations representing the University and Athletic Program to the public while maintaining a positive personal and professional image in appearance and actions
• Additional departmental responsibilities as assigned by Athletic Director
• Other duties as assigned Required Skills : Experience coaching or competing in cross country and track and field Minimum Qualifications : - Bachelor’s Degree
