Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Coordinates and prepares the monthly financial reports and annual audit schedules
for review by the Controller;
• Coordinates the gathering of the required documentation for the preparation of the
990s;
• Coordinates and supervises the general ledger reconciliations on a monthly and
annual basis;
• Performs key annual account reconciliations as required;
• Works directly with Onshore and Offshore accounting teams as well as other staff
throughout the agency;
• Acts as an administrator for the expense reimbursment tool (Concur);
• Acts as an administer for the ERP system (Sage Intacct) - ensuring system
integrity;
• Ensures compliance with all internal controls;
• Ensures policies and procedures are documented and up to date;
• Prepares financial analysis as needed to ensure accuracy of the operating
statements at month end;
• Acts as administrator for bank website;
• Reviews monthly closing processes to prevent error;
• Performs related duties as required;
Qualifications
Education: BA/BS degree in Accounting/Finance
Experience: 10-15 years of experience in accounting preferred
Required Skills
1. Knowledge of accounting skills; working knowledge of accepted accounting
practices and financial accounting standards
2. Good critical thinking as well as analytical skills
3. Excellent interpersonal skills as well as good verbal and written communication
skills
4. Strong computer skills and knowledge of relevant technology
5. Close attention to detail
6. Willingness to learn an overview of all other areas in the agency
Physical Demands & Work Environment
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an
employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is largely a
sedentary role in a professional office environment; however, some active office tasks are
required. This would require the ability to move about inside the office to access file
cabinets, office machinery, etc. This position requires the ability to move file boxes, office
products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. The position requires visual and auditory acuity
within professionally determined normal ranges, with correction if need; and manual
dexterity sufficient to operate a computer and office equipment, including, but not limited to,
the telephone, computer, and copier. Occasional local and regional travel is required for
this position.
