The Buyer is responsible for the procurement of MRO supplies and related items to support manufacturing production schedules and manage the inventory of a supply crib. OKAY engineers and manufactures components and subassemblies for OEMs in medical, defense/firearms, and other industrial markets. We're a market leader in metal stamping, CNC machining, laser welding, automated assembly, design engineering and supply-chain management.Responsibilities:• Use MRP and Kanban systems to procure MRO items required for manufacturing • Manage supplies inventory and operations of a supply crib• Establish vendor relationships in an effort to identify cost savings and process improvements• Examine and analyze purchase requisitions for completeness and accuracy of information• Research, verify and maintain quotes for proper quantities and costs• Prepare purchasing documents for processing• Resolve issues or concerns between suppliers and OKAY• Analyze cost and quality of goods and services• Handle questions and complaintsSkills Required:• 2 years of manufacturing experience in supply management or related field is desired• Experience with Plexor similar MRP system for production orders• Demonstrated negotiation skills with suppliers.• Applicants should have strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills• Awareness of pricing and inventory issues.• Ability to work under pressure/deadlines.• Knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures. • Good math skills• Well organizedExperience:Degree preferred, or Comparable experience purchasing in a manufacturing environmentAn Equal Opportunity Employer -----M/F/D/V
