What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surgery Scheduler/Medical Assistant position at Oklahoma Otolaryngology Associates,LLC?
Detail oriented individual needed on our team for busy surgeon to serve as Medical Assistant.
This person will be responsible for the following;
- Schedule surgeries and procedures for patients
- Coordinate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth scheduling process
- Obtain necessary patient information and medical records for scheduling purposes
- Communicate with patients to provide pre-operative instructions and answer any questions or concerns
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date scheduling records
- Collaborate with insurance companies to obtain pre-authorization for surgical procedures
- Assist in managing the surgical schedule to optimize efficiency and minimize conflicts
This position also includes the rooming of patients, taking of vitals, updating electronic medical records, verifying correct information is obtained, updating medications, allergies, prescription refills, assisting in minor office procedures, taking of miniCat CT scans.
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Surgery Scheduler or in a similar role is preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and surgical procedures is required
- Proficiency in using scheduling software and electronic medical records systems
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple schedules simultaneously
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, healthcare professionals, and insurance companies
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
