This position is located in our phone center at our Capitol Branch, 3001 N Lincoln Blvd, OKC 73105.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Foster a results-based culture by employing leadership skills that are motivational, drive individual and team accountability, and provide coaching on leadership, effective selling techniques and value proposition knowledge.
- Collaborate with Senior Management to set the strategic direction of the department; corresponding goals; and action plans to achieve those goals.
- Oversee the activities of the mortgage origination support functions including processing, underwriting, loan closing and secondary market sales.
- Oversee the mortgage servicing team activities including investor reporting, escrow analysis and loss mitigation.
- Communicate regularly to senior management on team performance and action plans for driving future results.
- Prepare Business Cases for potential new mortgage lending products, programs and services.
- Analyze and recommend resources and staffing changes, evaluate and assess direct reports, and promote initiatives to support the professional development of the team.
- Identify qualified MLO candidates and maintain a recruitment pipeline to minimize extended sales position vacancies.
- Actively contribute to quality member service, growth and profitability.
- Coordinate with the Risk Management department for audits and reporting.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of mortgage banking markets, products, pricing, laws and regulations, practices, competitors, technology, current industry issues, and regulations that may affect the credit union’s lending and collection functions, including bankruptcy legislation and secondary market loans.
- Ensure compliance with appropriate credit union policies and regulatory guidelines, including Fair Lending and RESPA.
- Provide analysis on trends in mortgage lending and industry opportunities to guide strategic planning and plan department objectives.
- Enhance real estate lending procedures and processes to increase productivity, provide exceptional service delivery to borrowers, and cost-effective underwriting.
- Review overall collection activity and delinquency reports. Compare activity with predetermined goals and initiate any revised underwriting guidelines or processes required to meet/exceed goals.
- Ensure OKCU objectives are met in the areas of pricing, rate lock management, loan mix and secondary market sales.
- Ensure confidentiality regarding member transactions and information.
- Ensure compliance with all credit union policies and procedures.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role in the mortgage business at a bank, mortgage company or credit union.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in mortgage underwriting to include Fannie Mae DU or FreddieMac LP
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Experience using a CRM software is a plus.
- Experience with Fiserv DNA is a plus.
- Experience with Byte LOS is a plus.
- Registration with the NMLS will be required upon employment
