Job Summary: | Office of Admissions, Recruitment, & Outreach Programs Position: Outreach & Engagement Specialist Position General Description: This position serves as a member of the Admissions Team in the Office of Admissions, Recruitment, and Outreach Programs and is primarily responsible for recruiting students to achieve enrollment goals and representing the University in various settings. The candidate must have strong writing skills, be highly self-motivated and be deeply committed to providing outstanding customer service to prospective students and University stakeholders. Job Duties: Oversees campus and virtual tours (in collaboration with the Student Ambassadors via the Division of Student Affairs) and events such as High School Day, Senior Day, etc. Serves as a member of the Admissions team managing a recruitment territory to assist in achieving enrollment goals for the university.
Develops and executes presentations to internal and external groups in various settings.
Implements recruitment strategies and plans in the assigned territory to include college visits, career/job fairs, and targeted recruitment to community organizations and businesses.
Initiates, plans, and implements special projects in conjunction with the goals and objectives of the office.
Advises students about admission requirements and academic majors.
Provides follow-up to students via phone, letters, emails, and scheduled appointments.
Reviews admission applications, evaluates credentials and renders admission decisions.
Completes routine reports related to recruitment, projections, personal schedule, travel, special programs, and professional development.
Assists students and represents the LU brand with professionalism and positivity.
Supports and assists with recruiting prospective band, choir, and other co-curricular activities that may impact enrollment goals.
Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

Position Qualifications: | QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree. Valid driver's license. Two or more years of related experience working in a fast-paced customer service environment. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely (verbal, written, interpersonal, and listening), give/receive instructions, and respond to inquiries appropriately. Ability to work independently and as a team member. Strong organizational and time management skills. Experience taking the initiative and setting priorities as necessary to manage a heavy workload. Experience with computers, the internet, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher, and Access). Previous experience in marketing, public relations, or recruiting is beneficial. Ability to work outside of the traditional work hours, including but not limited to nights, weekends, and while away from the office.
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
