JOB TITLE: Insurance Biller/Medical Records
DEPARTMENT: Billing
CAMPUS: Buckhead
REPORTING TO: Billing Supervisor
RESPONSIBLE FOR: -Insurance claims, Processing Medical Records requests
JOB PURPOSE: To submit medical claims to insurance companies and payers. Participate in all parts of the Revenue Cycle to ensure that claims are created, modified, sent, appealed, and worked until resolved. Be influential in the financial success of the practice.
To scan and index medical records into patient charts to insure information for complete patient care.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Submit all bills to appropriate payer without delay both electronically and via USPS
2. Allocate insurance payer payments
3. Correct claims that fail validation
4. Edit and correct claims marked by the Payor as Invalid or Rejected in a timely manner.
5. Identify and resolve patient billing problems/complaints
6. Appeal denied claims both electronically and through written means of communication.
7. Follow up on claims that have yet to be paid. Continue to follow up until claim is resolved.
8. Be familiar with the A/R aging report for the insurance groups you are responsible for.
9. Monitor and respond to internal and external communications (email, im, vmail).
10. Process incoming and outgoing medical record requests.
11. Adopt and believe in the Mission Vision and Values of the company.
12. Follow direction of Billing Supervisor and other leadership team members.
KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
The employee will work under the direct supervision of the billing supervisor, but will also be expected to work under their own initiative. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to provide creative solutions to resolve patient complaints is paramount to this position. A unique skill of being able to patiently and accurately explain statements/EOBs is paramount to providing a patient-focused experience for all patients.
HOURS OF WORK
Monday thru Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
