Job Summary:
We welcome you to join the Risk Management Team as a Risk Management Coordinator. In this role, you will support the clinical risk management functions for Olathe Medical Center and related entities as designated by the Risk Manager. The position duties include, but are not limited to, safety event system data base management, medical record reviews and abstract preparation, and collaborating with leaders across the organization in safety event follow up. Supports the Patient Relations and Risk Management teams and is committed to zero harm for patients and associates.

Minimum Requirements:
Education:
- 2 Year / Associate Degree Registered Nurse Minimum
- 4 Year / Bachelors Degree Preferred
- 3 - 5 Years Clinical healthcare experience, preferably in a hospital setting, with demonstrated knowledge of patient safety and quality improvement programs. Minimum
- 1 - 3 Years Previous Risk Management experience. Preferred
- Professional caring demeanor (Minimum proficiency)
- Basic computer skills to include use of Microsoft Office programs and the ability to navigate an electronic medical record. (Minimum proficiency)
- Ability to organize multiple tasks and manage to a deadline. (Minimum proficiency)
- Ability to prepare written summaries and reports. (Minimum proficiency)
- Customer focused and trusted to manage confidential information (Minimum proficiency)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in accordance with the Kansas Nurse Licensure Compact Minimum
Key Responsibilities
- Supports the Risk Manager in preparation for meetings and/or projects as assigned. Able to bring projects to completion with organizational support. Completes agenda, minutes, reports for committees as requested.
- Supports performance improvement activities such as Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA), Apparent Cause Analysis (ACA) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA), as requested. Assists with risk prevention activities.
- Reviews medical record in preparation for peer review. The review includes providing a pertinent abstract and time line of key events as applicable for the case under review.
- Assists with event management and follow-up investigation, as assigned. Proficiently uses the safety event system data base in the performance of reviews and preparing reports.
- Interacts professionally with physicians, personnel, management, and patients. May serve as support member for the Patient Relations team and support patient advocacy activities as requested.
