POSITION TITLE: Large Format Print Designer
DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: Graphic Communications / West Dennis Support Center
HOURS OF WORK/CALENDAR: 20 hours per week / 242 days
STATUS: Classified - Non-Exempt, Part-Time
SALARY: $14/hr.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Large Format Print Designer is a part-time position responsible for day-to-day print production and design creation/layout for large format print pieces that relate given information to its purpose. This includes, but is not limited to, banners, posters, promotional materials, stickers, and a myriad of print materials to be used by the district to distribute information to staff, students, parents, and the community. This position operates/maintains the large format print machine and requires knowledge or ability to learn format equipment, including techniques for the prepress, printing, cutting and finishing, as well as appropriate design specifications for large format. The Large Format Print Designer will communicate with the customer throughout all processes of their project to provide quality work that meets or exceeds their expectations, review projects with supervisor to maintain products and services within guidelines and consult with co-workers as necessary on projects.
Perform other duties in the Graphic Communication Department when requested.
This position is part of the Graphic Communications team and reports to Erica Derrington. The department falls under the Communications team that reports to Becky Grubaugh.
PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operating large format equipment
Graphic design creation/layout for large format print pieces
Support graphic design and creation of small format documents (informational flyers, brochures, book/booklets, system forms, etc.) as needed
Handle time-sensitive material
Maintain department equipment
Maintain the highest levels of customer care while demonstrating a friendly, cooperative and team attitude
Demonstrate flexibility in satisfying customer demands in a high volume, production environment
Consistently adhere to business procedure guidelines
Take direction from supervisor
Work as a team to maintain warehouse needs
Adhere to all safety procedures
Willingness to help other areas in office
Perform other tasks as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Print Shop experience preferred.
Knowledge of Acrobat Professional and Adobe Software (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
