What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teacher position at Old Colony YMCA?
The Teacher will plan and implement a program of activities which will ensure each child's personal safety while providing entertainment, physical challenges and learning experiences. The Site Coordinator will uphold the employee code of conduct and will ensure that all areas of the job responsibilities reflect the mission of the Old Colony Y, and the regulating agency. S/He will display and encourage the character traits of caring, responsibility, honesty and respect in the fulfillment of all job duties, as well as perform the following job functions.
Requirements:
- Understand and ensure EEC regulations and NAEYC standards as well as Old Colony Y policies (Child and Youth Care policy, Child Guidance Policy, Health Care Policy) are maintained at all times.
- Plan, develop, and implement the program curriculum in accordance with EEC regulations, NAEYC standards and Old Colony YMCA'S policies.
- Gear the lesson plans to the needs of individual children with concern for their interests, disabilities, special talents, cultural diversity, and individual style and pace of learning.
- Leadership of daily activities as well as classroom arrangement, appearance and overall learning environment.
- Understands and maintains QRIS standards
- Act in a public relations capacity when communicating with parents, Y personnel and potential clients.
- Supervision of the program's children in all program locations, trips, etc.
- Complete necessary documentation, including accident reports, incident reports, attendance records, and forward a copy of these report to the Child Care Director.
