Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for adhering to prescribed lessons and activities as established by the program. Instruction will be delivered in an environment conducive to the learning experience, including supervision of participants and assessment of participant skill levels in order to assist them with reaching program goals.
- Utilizes effective classroom management skills; assist, advise and counsel a diverse student population with regard to program policies and standards while demonstrating sensitivity to student needs and circumstances.
- Addresses questions or concerns and utilize training and instructional methods that reinforce learning. Seek support and guidance from the Lead Educational Instructor.
- Motivate students to actively participate in all aspects of the educational process, including but not limited to threaded class discussions, research, enrichment activities, physical activities, etc.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree is preferred.
- One year of work experience educational field; or two (2) or more years of related experience and/or training; experience working with the at-risk population strongly preferred. Previous experience working as a Tutor is preferred.
- Analytical, excellent verbal and written communication, self-motivation, collaborative, resourceful, flexible, initiative, problem solving, decision making, organization, planning, creative, objective, interpersonal, and critical judgment. Basic skills instruction, including the ability to learn and utilize various instructional technology software programs and equipment.
- Must have appropriate and valid state driver’s license and be able to meet requirements for Eckerd’s Auto Insurance and be able to drive for business purposes.

About Our Program:
Eckerd Connects provides youth services through contracts with Franklin County Department of Job and Family Services to offer comprehensive programming to support youth through academics, social and emotional learning and physical activities. Out of School Time (OST) programs for ages 5-13.
