Job Summary
The SEES Retention Coordinator will work closely with the Associate Dean of Students, colleagues from other key units to develop and maintain support programs fostering student academic success and retention of at-risk populations as designated by the Noel Levitz Predictive Model. This position will research, develop and assess best practices that improve persistence and support targeted programming to assist special student populations academically, personally, and professionally. In addition, the coordinator will oversee retention-oriented predictive analytic technologies, supporting end users. The retention coordinator works with at-risk and special population students on a case management basis to identify their needs, address challenges, and provide appropriate referrals for services.

Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in higher education, college student development or a related field. Bachelor's degree in higher education, college student development or a related field with experience equivalent to a Master's degree may be substituted.
Basic knowledge of program models and best practices for offering services to various populations of students, including undeclared majors, students in academic difficulty, and students at risk for leaving the institution.
Working knowledge of the Noel-Levitz educational services related to enrollment management, student retention and student success.
Working knowledge of college student services, college student development theory, and retention theory.
Working knowledge of student information systems as related to student records and advising.
Working knowledge of federal regulations such as Family Education Rights and Privacy Act ( FERPA ).
Excellent analytical skills in interpreting quantitative and qualitative data.
Strong skills in the use of Microsoft Office or related software in producing reports, presentations and a variety of other related documents.
Excellent written communication and oral presentation skills.
Ability to develop specific programming goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish desired outcomes.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and as a team member.
Basic experience working with students in an advisory, administrative or educational capacity. Basic experience in student related Program Development.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior student advising/counseling experience preferred.
