Summary
This position requires the employee to perform a wide variety of functions including the following: preparing shipping documents, accepting payment, basic typing, and word processing, answering calls, customer relations, etc. This individual will also address product questions, sales orders, order tracking, quotes, and quality solutions to delivery needs. Sustaining the high-level customer rapport with fast-paced and accurate service levels is key to the success of this position. This position is responsible for dispatching trucks with outbound deliveries and scheduling backhauls as needed, coordinating with sales department, answering phones as needed and maintaining accurate records.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare delivery tickets and related shipping documents
- Check and review all orders assigned before they are shipped against delivery tickets
- Work closely with truck drivers to ensure delivery date/times are accurate, D.O.T. compliance with load weight and secure loads are met
- Accurate record keeping of each truck entering/leaving the site as well as the weight of all materials entering/leaving the site
- The position uses computers, spreadsheets, and databases
- Strong information storage and filing skills are required
- Some work may include analyzing data and making various computations
- Prepare invoices, delivery tickets, and related shipping documents
- Experienced accurate data entry and document handling - Categorizing, filing, and maintaining ship ticket copies for audit purposes and file all customer records
- Coordinate deliveries with trucks and customers to ensure delivery time accuracy
- Plan and schedule effective delivery routes and work with trucks to cover loads efficiently
- Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed

Requirements / Education / Experience
- High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience in related function
- At least 1 year of related experience
- Computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; M3/H5 Lawson experience a plus
- Mathematical and communication skills
- A proven safety record as well as a history of being a team player
- Must be able to work without direct supervision
Physical Environment
- May require occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Walking and standing for long periods of time
- Ability to climb flights of stairs throughout the day
