Job Summary


The Stormwater Product Manager is responsible for driving revenue & profitability of SW product portfolios. In addition, the Product Manager will set & drive strategic product decisions that produce long term growth across Segments (existing & new Commercial, Residential, Multifamily, public sector, municipalities, counties, and more), Channels (direct and/or through distribution), Markets & Geographies using qualitative and quantitative data.


They understand and monitor trends driving our industry, map consumer needs, assess company’s product performance to develop uniquely differentiated product offerings and solutions that are vertically and horizontally integrated with broader CRH business units.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams for product launch and company readiness activities including messaging/positioning, internal and external training, and other go to market activities.


Core Responsibilities


  • Market LandscapeThe Product Manager (PM) will have thorough understanding of the market dynamics including customer and end user trends, competitive trends and actions and will drive market sizing efforts to ensure focus on addressable markets and weaknesses of our competitor’s products/brands.
  • Product Portfolio Management – PM will lead product portfolio strategy including management of existing product mix and pricing strategy to drive top- and bottom-line financial performance. He/she will participate in capacity planning efforts working with operations and engineering. Responsible for product line maintenance including SKU rationalization and simplification to optimize the product mix and financials.
  • Customer-Centric – PM will ideate, develop, and execute of NPD/PI roadmaps which are customer-centric to capitalize on key market opportunities and champion the stage gate process through cross-functional leadership. PM will lead new product rollout efforts including forecasting volumes, end user validation, integrated marketing planning as well as sales and channel training.
  • Customer Intimacy – PM will gain strong understanding of voice of customer through qualitative and quantitative market research that drive product strategy and development. He/she will analyze customer segmentation data to ensure proper targeting and prioritization.


Day-To-Day Responsibilities


  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams
    • Work closely with business & functional leaders to understand overall business objectives and develop/ lead processes to gain alignment on an appropriate product strategy to meet Stormwater growth targets.

    • Executes feasibility deliverables (Business cases, Voice of the Customer), influence key decisions, build consensus with Sales and management team and take NPD/PI project through Stage-Gate process, launch and post-commercialization.

    • Understand customer needs, assess competitive landscape, and identify product portfolio gaps to develop, present and sell ideas for new product development or enhancements by using the NPD/PI scorecard process. This will be done in collaboration with key stakeholders in Sales, Engineering, Regulatory and Product teams.

    • Plan and present a balanced go to market strategy that includes P&Ls, to establish pricing and manage profitability, creating sales material and training, planning, and presenting product line reviews with minimal oversight.

    • Drives effective interface with Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations and Supply-chain to understand the production processes, establish standardization and influence product development.

    • Define the product strategy, life cycle and roadmap for respective product lines that achieve substantial growth and profitability. Responsible for phasing-in new products and phasing-out old products.

    • Demonstrates expert understanding of pricing strategies to build and protect a leadership position in market share while enhancing profit margins and developing marketing tools for successful product introductions.


  • Collaborate with Sales
    • Review product portfolio performance and market analytics to evaluate performance and communicate market share targets, sales objectives, and portfolio/product recommendations to leadership.

    • Research business intelligence on competitors, customers, market trends and government regulations to develop positioning, pricing and growth strategies for product mix in established & emerging markets.

    • Collaborate with Sales teams to optimize consumer facing marketing in alignment with product line strategies, consumer segmentations, channels and markets.

    • Provide Stormwater sales teams with leadership and marketing support, including sales tools, training, competitive intelligence and actionable reporting.

    • Develop short and long-term strategies and plans for demand generation, on-going market research, customer needs assessment, sales and inventory forecasting, and customer and sales history analysis.

    • Monitors changes and trends within both the macro and micro-environment to take advantage of opportunities and plan around threats. Particular attention must be given to Regulations, standards, and design trends vs. competition.

    • Partner with Product Marketing Manager to research consumer behavior for product and sales insights, track and monitor customer satisfaction, data & trends.


  • Collaborate with Marketing
    • Manages the development and launch of products in new markets taking account of the full marketing mix and internal communications. Working with Marketing and Product Marketing Manager while they execute on PM’s plans

    • Develop product features & benefits, value propositions for different customer personas, create positioning statements & messaging to the identified target markets to assist the marketing in the preparation of product brochures, collateral and webinars, product related PR events and more

Skills & Requirements


  • Experience in strategic planning, product road mapping, and creating business plans

  • Bachelors degree in related field

  • 5 of experience with in the PM field and leadership experience

  • Prior experience with NPD & PI and stage-gate process

  • Experience with P&L analytics and familiarity with financial decision-making methods

  • Demonstrated initiative and leadership skills; setting vision and strategy, planning, critical thinking, orchestrating cross-functionally, overseeing multiple project elements and proven track record of results

  • Strong organization and time management skills

  • Must have demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently and handle multiple, simultaneous projects

  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, communication, and storytelling skills
