Essential Functions*
- Direct and oversee the preparation and validation of payroll related functions including Peoplesoft, CostPoint, Shop Floor Time, and bi-weekly pay for approximately 1700 employees.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of a payroll team engaged in computation, documentation and processing of payroll wages and related deductions.
- Generate reports for the union and respond to requests to address union grievances.
- Resolve employee payroll issues.
- Provide staff coaching, address performance, identify and support development opportunities.
Position Requirements*
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s Degree** preferred or a minimum of five years relevant managerial work experience.
- Minimum of two years manufacturing industry and union relations experience preferred.
- Experience using Payroll systems; PeopleSoft, Shop Floor Time, and Kronos preferred.
- Must be able to manage multiple processes and work well under time sensitive deadlines.
- Superior communication (verbal and written), organization, time management, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills required.
- Must demonstrate strong attention to detail.
- This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
- This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
- This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies.
