THE ROLE

In this role, you will be assisting in the analysis of all OLIPOP products to ensure they meet our quality standards. This includes testing finished products using analytical lab instruments as well as providing sensory analysis to verify product consistency. The Quality Technician will be responsible for the management of the OLIPOP quality assurance lab in San Rafael, CA including - product testing, new product formulation, shelf-life studies, equipment calibration and maintenance.

You will also assist the OLIPOP quality team by providing administrative support: documentation review and filing, data input and analysis, shipping and receiving samples and testing supplies. This role will be the key support person to the entire quality assurance team so that we can continue to produce high quality products and meet the increasing demands of the OLIPOP business as it grows.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Quality Lab Support

• Perform regular finished product testing as part of OLIPOP's positive release program including Brix, pH, carbonation, other attributes as needed, and sensory analysis of finished product samples
• Send, track and receive packages sent to and from the Quality Lab
• Organize, test, and catalog finished product retention samples
• Work in collaboration with R&D Tech to manage on-going product studies (coordinate shipping for samples, recording results when received)
• Perform proper maintenance and calibration of lab equipment
• Identify through sensory analysis and maintain product gold standards
• Maintain cleanliness of lab
• This role will require this individual to work onsite at our San Rafael, CA lab facility 5 days per week
  
  

Quality Team Support

• Under the direction of the Quality Manager input production data from manufactures, as received, following the production of OLIPOP products
• Support Quality Specialists with copacker and CX investigations by managing sample sending and receiving.
  
  

QUALIFICATIONS

• Close proximity to our quality assurance lab in San Rafael, CA
• 1 - 3 years of experience in Quality, Food Manufacturing or other related functions.
• Knowledge of sensory evaluation methods and standards
• Ability to interpret sensory information and identify differences between product samples and established controls
• Experience working in a lab environment
• Experience using project management programs such as Asana
• Ability to organize high volumes of projects and manage multiple deadlines
• Experience presenting large amounts of data in a concise and actionable manner
• Transparent, open/honest communicator - a great listener who can work independently while keeping other team members informed
• Independent - this position will require personal motivation without direct supervision and consistent effort to ensure deadlines are met
• Strong attention to detail, hard work ethic, ability to work well with others and highly organized.
• Will require some travel to team events.

COMPENSATION:

$75,000-$85,000 base salary bonus
