Accounts Payable Specialist

Position Overview:

• This position will act as the primary contact for all items pertaining to accounts payable.
• This position will be responsible for creating, printing, and distribution of all checks.
• This position will be responsible for the processing of payments and invoices.
• This position reports to the Accounting Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Input and process all invoices in the accounting system, Spectrum, in a timely manner to ensure all discounts are obtained.
• Route incoming invoices to the proper personnel for approval.
• Process, print, and distribute all checks for payment to vendors including Union Dues.
• Process, print, and distribute all checks for payment requested for special events.
• Enter and process all incoming payments and prepare the deposit for the bank.
• Reconciliation of accounts payable vendor statements.
• Move costs and invoices from one project to another as requested.
• Communicate effectively with Project Managers and work with them to reconcile project costs and ensuring all specifications of the project, such as tax exceptions are entered into the system.
• Work with other departments to ensure projects are set up in Spectrum for proper cost application.
• Process and submit payment to relevant entities for parking infractions and moving violations.
• Perform relevant items for month end financials.
• Responsible for Monthly and Quarterly Tax Payments to the states our organization performs work in.
• Responsible for monthly payments for health care benefits.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field2 years of experience in accounts payable or related field
• Strong understanding of financial concepts, double entry bookkeeping, and GAAP
• Excellent data entry skills and attention to detail
• Ability to analyze and interpret financial data
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $48,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
