About the role:
OLIVER is hiring a Copywriter to join our team! If you love to write copy for social, digital content, web, display, print, and have experience working at an advertising agency, then this is the role for you. We are looking for someone who has experience working with a variety of CPG brands across all mediums. What we work on changes day to day, so we’re looking for creatives who are as ambitious as they are self-sufficient. You should love writing caption copy for social, and love concepting what could the next big trend on Tik Tok. Experience writing long form copy for articles and blogs are always appreciated, but this role is social first and foremost. That means, short, pithy copy rules the day! We’re look for flexible copywriters who are open to doing a bit of this and a bit of that, while always making sure the details shine through. The work is plentiful and the pace is quick, so this role is perfect for creative who love a good challenge.
This role will be remote for now, but eventually you will sit on-site with our team in Englewood Cliffs, NJ at Unilever North America Headquarters. Our team rides a convenient Unilever shuttle to and from Manhattan, Brooklyn, and parts of New Jersey. We also allow our team members to work offsite 1 day a week.
What you will be doing:
- Social. Social. Social. You’ll write, research and conceptualize creative, and innovative digital content that people can’t help but share
- Write short and long form articles, social captions, headlines, banner copy, website copy, and even the occasional print ad
- Take briefs in from our on-site teams across North America to understand the needs of the project
- Ensure that the work that is delivered meets the goals of the brief
- Write copy that is within brand guidelines for our range of clients
- Be responsible for writing and ideation of creative that brings engagement and enhances our many brands
- Create and repurpose content for different usages working within brand guidelines
- Work closely with an art director partner and/or designer to bring projects to life
- Work closely with clients to create strong concepts from the initial brief
- Work closely with the Account Managers and Strategists to take a brief from beginning to end
- Ensure consistency and quality across all written content
- Present and articulate concepts to clients. Presentation skills are key!
What you need to be great in this role:
- 3-4 years writing in an advertising agency or in-house environment
- 3-4 years’ experience writing social caption copy, ads, landing pages, digital content, emails, video scripts, and other various social content
- Comfortable presenting work to co-workers and clients
- A collaborative spirit balanced with the ability to handle projects on your own
- Prior experience managing cross-functional projects and possess well developed project management skills – read: you can handle a lot on your plate
- Take business and marketing jargon and make it conversational
- Ability to multitask
- 3-4 years of experience presenting ideas to clients, the ability to clearly articulate your ideas
- 3-4 years of experience working with both digital and print based projects and have a solid track record of delivering big concepts and ideas with an outstanding portfolio to prove it.
- An enjoyment of working in a team-oriented and collaborative style with the ability to problem-solve
