Position: Maintenance Technician II
Reports To: DC Maintenance Manager
Department: Distribution Center
Exempt Status: Non-exempt
Position Overview:
The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for performing skilled maintenance, repair and construction to the Distribution Centers. Additionally, this position is responsible for performing regularly scheduled preventative maintenance on material handling equipment and other facility systems.
Responsibilities
- Assist with building maintenance issues as needed to include plumbing, heating/CAC and minor cosmetic repairs and maintenance
- Perform regularly scheduled daily and monthly preventative maintenance to facility systems and equipment
- Utilize material handling equipment (MHE) to clear jams on conveyor in locations that are not easily accessible
- Provide support to the Maintenance Technician I by assisting with battery changes and repairs to MHE as needed
- Assist with trash and pallet collection and separation as needed
- Operate baler to consolidate trash and cardboard for easy recycling and disposal
- Operate floor scrubber as needed and complete any necessary repairs or preventative measure for equipment upkeep
- Maintain and clean and tidy work area
- Complete additional responsibilities and/or duties as needed
Qualifications:
· High School diploma or equivalent preferred, not required.
· One to two years previous maintenance experience of vocational training in related field
· Ability to work independently and self-motivated to seek work.
· Ability to prioritize work and plan movements ahead to maximize movements.
· Efficient planning, prioritization and implementation of detailed instructions.
· Ability to complete assignments in time allotted
· Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
· Ability to bend and twist frequently
· Ability to grip, reach, and pinch with arms and hands frequently
· Ability to squat, kneel, balance and climb occasionally
· Ability to see, hear and speak regularly
· Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
