What are the responsibilities and job description for the Junior Buyer position at OLON INDUSTRIES?
PURPOSE OF POSITION: Responsible for placing and expediting PO's, managing inventory at an acceptable level and providing product information to internal teams as required. This position works closely with all departments including manufacturing, sales and accounting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- A member of the multi-plant supply chain management team for specified key raw materials, components, services, resale and MRO items
- Manage the procurement and inventory of various raw materials, components, services, resale and MRO items for designated location(s)
- Manage the procurement of supplies, tooling and equipment in cooperation with Operations
- Investigate new supply strategies or alternative supply strategies for raw materials, components and services
- Maintain and improve relationships with suppliers and colleagues
- Issue and expedite purchase orders
- Resolve invoicing discrepancies
- Resolve supplier shipping errors
- Maintain acceptable inventory levels and coordinate with the inventory department to ensure cycle counts of inventory, track results and maintain stock levels system
- Monitors fill rates and backorders.
- Maintain system data as it relates to products and purchase orders (PO due dates, order controls, pricing, product rebates etc.)
- Works with other branches/departments to insure information is accessible to internal teams.
- All other duties as required
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- 3 – 5 years of procurement experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably multi-plant)
- Superior negotiating and communication skills
- Basic business mathematics and units conversions
- Product Knowledge (ongoing and continuous training)
- Strong knowledge and practical experience with basic accounting principles
- Excellent computer skills including all Microsoft Office software (Excel and Word)
REQUIRED EDUCATION/ TRAINING:
- Bachelor’s Degree, in business administration or accounting, preferred
- APICS / PMAC accreditation a strong asset
- 3-5 years of Navision or other ERP system experience

Pay: $42,000.00 - $47,000.00 per year
