Millwright/Maintenance Mechanic Position at the Olson Baking Company
The Olson Baking Company is a leading manufacturer of Frozen Baked Goods for Grocery Stores all over the US. We are seeking a Facilities Maintenance Engineer for full-time employment. We have a great amount of pride in our company and want to find an employee who enjoys being part of our team.
Position: Millwright/Maintenance Mechanic
Starting Pay: $28.00 to $35.00 (DOE)
Type: Full Time
Our bakery operates up to 24hrs/7 days a week and we have three shifts for Engineers. Day shift, Mid-Day shift and the Night shift. Hours may vary due to our production schedule.
Our ideal candidate is reliable, possesses strong verbal/written communication skills, and works well in a busy environment alongside the rest of our Facilities Team. They will perform required repairs and maintenance tasks as assigned in an orderly, timely, and cost-conscious manner on a variety of bakery production equipment, freezers, and/or facilities.

• Maintaining 6 feet for social distancing

DUTIES:
• Responsible for preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repair of all pieces of equipment within the bakery including production areas, building and facility grounds.
• Responsible for maintaining the equipment’s productivity to minimize downtime or malfunctions. Some tasks are required to be performed within rigid time frames to maximize our productivity.
• Ensures all work areas are clean and safe.
• Follows all company GMPs.
• Works in a safe and efficient manner and always stays within compliance of Federal and State requirements.
• Maintains accurate and timely records of work performed on work orders, maintenance calls and preventative maintenance reports.
• Responds to maintenance and line stoppage calls with a sense of urgency and responsibility to get production moving again.
• Provides emergency repairs quickly and efficiently.
• Performs duties in all areas within the maintenance department.
• Provides technical assistance and information to the Chief Engineer as needed.
• Displays initiative in recognizing work that needs to be accomplished and makes recommendations to the Chief Engineer.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Previous experience in similar maintenance of production line equipment and facilities at a large commercial bakery is preferred.
• Work experience in other similar equipment maintenance of industrial, manufacturing or production line equipment preferred.
• Ability to work in a high temperature environment supporting fast paced machinery.
• Ability to quickly learn new job tasks and have the flexibility to perform different tasks as needed.
• Must be able to work any day including holidays and weekends
• Must have reliable transportation to get to and from work to meet our standards for 24/7 production
