OLV Human Services is on the hunt for an enthusiastic and passionate Physical Education Teacher to join our Intensive Treatment Program (ITP)! 🏀🏈🎾   The ITP School programs offer specialized educational services for students who are diagnosed with Autism or a Cognitive Disability paired with a mental health diagnosis. Free dental insurance   Perks: Small class sizes (6 students, 1 teacher and 3 behavior support technicians per classroom) Teacher Mentor Program Casual dress code OLV Tuition Reimbursement up to $7,200 Qualifying Non-For-Profit for Federal Student Loan Forgiveness Program (click here to learn more: https://studentaid.gov/manage-loans/forgiveness-cancellation) Take advantage of our Dental & Outpatient Mental Health services while working Up to $180 annual gym reimbursement $$ Employee referral program $$  ===================================================================================================================================  Full Job Description  Job Summary:Plans and provides for appropriate learning experiences for students with Autism, Intellectual Disability, and/or mental health involvement in a variety of educational settings.  The person in this position is responsible for creating flexible program and learnings environment that provides specialized activities in physical education for students with disabilities. Essential Job Duties:• Provides an educational climate that success, independence, a productive atmosphere, and provides students with encouragement, safety and stimulation.• Completes weekly lesson plans based on a developmentally appropriate curriculum which follows the New York State Educational Department Learning Standards.• Prepares lessons and other instructional materials to meet individual needs of students based upon their IEP.• Demonstrate adequate knowledge of: subject matter- Physical Education, ability to think critically, and individualized instruction.• Implement and share effective behavior management techniques or plans.• Act as a team leader of classroom staff including assistants, therapists and social workers.• Communicate effectively with parents (through notebooks, phone calls, conferences, district meetings, etc.)• Complete log notes based on student goals as per the IEP(progress and/or regression)• Complete quarterly progress reports on all students that are distributed to parents and the school districts.• Maintain client confidentiality within HIPPA/FERPA and agency guidelines.• Any other duties assigned by supervisor  Skills: • Computer skills  Qualifications: Education: Physical Education & Health Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred Experience:• 1-2 years working with individuals with Autism, Intellectual Disability, and/or mental health involvement.• 1-2 years teaching experience License/Registration/ Certification:  • NYS Teaching Certification in Physical Education.   Additional Information: Salary based on relevant years of licensed experience Schedule: Monday-Friday  Training:• Continuing education as per NYS Office of Profession guidelines• All required agency trainings (including Applied Behavior Analysis, SCIP-R)• All trainings required by programs in which you service individuals•  New Hire Orientation Physical Requirements:The overall nature of the position is sedentary requiring little physical effort with occasional light physical exertion required. There is little, if any, exposure to environmental conditions• The frequent physical demand of the position is sitting.• The constant physical demands of the position are standing, walking, climbing, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, and eye/hand/foot coordination. • The occasional physical demands of the position are lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, balancing, stooping, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling.
