Olympic Community Action Programs is hiring a Youth Services Manager in Port Townsend, Washington. This is a full-time position with benefits. Job summary below.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The Youth Services Manager is responsible for implementation and operations of all youth specific housing support programs and supervision of direct service staff working with youth.

Responsibilities include:

Supervision:

  • Screen, hire and train new staff
  • Build youth team and provide oversight
  • Distribute new cases to direct service staff ensuring sustainable workloads
  • Promote a trauma-informed workplace that celebrates creative thought through modeling, education, and support
  • Nurture a culture of safe spaces for staff and service recipients

Case Management:

  • Participate in Supportive Housing Team, coordinating care and staying abreast of best practices agency-wide
  • Maintain a small caseload of clients enrolled in youth services programs, providingtrauma informed, person centered case management supports

Program Implementation and Operations:

  • Work closely with the Housing Director to design, implement and continually assess and improve services
  • Attend community and statewide meetings such as OHY to stay abreast of new funding opportunities and changes in legislature supporting youth leadership groups such as The Mockingbird Society
  • Build, implement, and coordinate focus groups of current and former recipients of youth services to informs strategic goals and planning as well as assess current program practices
  • Develop and maintain directory of youth specific services and programs
  • Track and ensure compliance with program guidelines and budgets
  • Provide ongoing training and support to youth services staff
  • Work closely with program funders to stay updated on any changes
  • Work with Housing Director to identify and apply for new funding sources as capacityallows and as meets strategic goals
  • Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for providing outreach-based community support services to support clients in housing stability
  • Familiarity with local, state, and national issues related to youth and young adult homelessness, and/or navigational knowledge of youth systems and homelessness in general preferred
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills, including the MS Office Suite Programs, and canlearn new applications.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong advocacy skills for self, others including staff and the youth we serve, as well ascross systems
  • Knowledge of Trauma Informed principles, and person-centered service delivery
  • Ability to provide strong, compassionate, and trauma-informed leadership
  • Experience in and ability to work well with people from diverse cultural, socio-economic,experiential, and/or educational backgrounds

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Passion for ending homelessness, and belief that it is possible
  • Must believe that people have the ability to change and that each individual is the experton their own life and what is most important to them
  • We celebrate the insights and expertise of lived experience
  • Two years of experience in human services field or nonprofit setting AND/OR educationalbackground in human development, human services, social work, or a relevant field;
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Passion for working with Youth and/or people experiencing homelessness

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
