What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lab Technician position at Olympic Scientific?

Olympic Scientific is seeking to fill a position for a Laboratory Technician. This individual will work with the supervisors, and other laboratory staff to aid in specimen testing, processing, reporting and quality assurance.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Strong attention to detail to ensure samples and testing are accurately represented
  • Perform a variety testing following lab procedures
  • Preparation of media used in analysis of samples
  • Follow lab procedures for specimen handling, test analysis, reporting, and maintaining records of test results
  • Prepare reagents
  • Read and understand technical specifications
  • Complete other tasks as needed, for laboratory operations
  • Support ongoing laboratory compliance
  • Promote a positive work environment while supporting management and business goals

Hours: 7:30-4pm, Tuesday-Saturday
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour DOE

Experience:

  • Lab experience (academic or professional): 0-2 year

Strong preferences given for candidates with:

  • Completed chemistry courses or degree
  • Lab experience: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Science background in chemistry
  • Previous laboratory experience
  • Excellent time management and organization
  • Manual dexterity to handle various laboratory instruments and perform laboratory procedures with care.

Work Location: One location, small lab work setting
