Salary Range

Job Function
The Grant Accountant performs a variety of professional accounting functions involving project budget development, fiscal interpretation, and analysis, reconciliations, review of multiple accounts and transactions, management of pre and post-award accounting and reporting, and monitoring compliance with required deliverables.
Essential Functions
- Meet with appropriate personnel to discuss program ideas, identify funding needs and consider potential grant opportunities.
- Work with staff to obtain program/project data in order to prepare grant proposals and reports.
- Recommend and assist in the development of policies and procedures for programs supported by grant monies.
- Act as a technical resource for departmental staff responsible for implementing grant objectives.
- Maintain files and records by filing and documenting grant activities to ensure all grant requirements are met.
- Monitor and evaluate information to determine compliance with prescribed standards and guidelines.
- Serve as liaison between agency departments and grant funding sources and respond to grant information requests.
- Prepare periodic reports of grants and other resource programs to management and grantors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities
- Support and assist staff in coordinating and implementing grant programs.
- Attend grant program-related committee meetings as needed.
- Work a flexible schedule as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or public administration, or related field, two (2) years of grant writing experience, or equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, and web-based research.
- Ability to perform a variety of tasks and self-directed workday to meet processing deadlines.
- Ability to perform detailed work with numerical data and to make arithmetic computations rapidly and accurately.
- Ability to communicate in a positive, professional, and effective manner while adhering to the OHA Policies and Procedures. Ability to understand oral and written instructions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, consultants, contractors, HUD, local, state, federal officials; ability to communicate with people from a broad range of socio-economic backgrounds.
- Excellent knowledge of local, state, and federal social programs designated to assist low-income families.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and possess reliable insured transportation for use on the job daily.
- Familiarity with both private and public funding sources.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting amid normal conditions of dust, odors, fumes, and the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Abilities
- Ability to sit, stand and walk up to 100% of the time; and reach stoop, squat, push, pull, and type up to 25% of the time.
- Ability to move objects weighing up to ten (10) pounds up to 33% of the time.
