Description:Analyzes technical risk for new and modified software products and services. Performs, documents, and interprets functional tests to mitigate risks. Performs various assignments of the software testing functionality. Guides, directs, and performs the set-up of performance tests.
Major Job Responsibilities/Job Duties:
- Tests and evaluates new or modified software changes based on business requirements to ensure quality product.
- Identifies and documents all issues discovered during test case creation and test execution.
- Ensures test cases adequately verify defined business criteria and are developed in support of reusability and automation standards.
- Creates detailed documentation to describe software errors and deficiencies for analysis and correction.
- Develops and designs test plans, test scenarios and test cases to include functional tests and regression tests.
- Conducts test strategy and test plan walkthroughs.
- Executes test scripts to verify that new functionality meets quality standards.
- Tracks and communicates all reported problems and defects to management.
- Maintains knowledge of technical and functional capabilities to develop a comprehensive understanding of complex systems and processes and most efficient testing approaches.
- Manages time across multiple projects and tasks in a deadline-driven, team environment.
- Participates in discussions with team members about technical best practices and help teams identify optimal technical solutions.
- Understands Agile methodology and instills best practices into the process.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- 4-year college degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Software testing experience.
- Strong manual and automated testing skills.
- Must be able to write test approach/strategy.
- Thorough understanding of test principles such as unit, smoke, functional (black box/white box), user acceptance and usability testing.
- Ability to write Functional, Integration and Regression test cases from the analysis of requirements document.
- High attention to detail with strong analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment while possessing individual accountability.
- Excellent prioritization, organization, and time management skills and ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be passionate about quality.
Schedule Requirements:
- This is a full-time position. Please plan to work approximately 40 hours per week.
