Located 30 miles north of downtown Dallas, Omni PGA Frisco Resort is the largest resort currently in development in the country. Opening spring 2023, the resort will feature 500 guest rooms and suites, 10 four-bedroom ranch houses, three pools, including an adults-only rooftop infinity pool, a destination spa, Lounge by Top Golf, and over 127,000-square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space. An expansive retail and entertainment district will feature dining, shopping and an outdoor stage set to be activated for concerts and outdoor programming. The Resort will become a leading destination for golf providing an unparalleled experience for those who are advanced players, new to the game, and everything in between. The resort will offer 46 holes of golf designed by Beau Welling and Gil Hanse, including two 18-hole championship golf courses, a lighted 10-hole short course, and a lighted two-acre putting green. 

Job Description

Omni PGA Frisco Resort is hiring a Director of Catering. Utilizing creativity and a keen attention to detail, the Director of Catering assists groups in planning and executing meetings and celebrations at Omni. This person will also oversee team of Catering Sales Managers, providing them with the assistance, training and motivation needed to ensure that all groups receive the superior service they have come to expect from Omni Hotels & Resorts.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, direct, manage, develop, and counsel catering sales team.
  • Drive all catering revenues.  Ensure monthly and annual catering revenue goals are achieved for the property and complete weekly and monthly forecasting of catering revenues.
  • Solicit new and existing accounts to meet and exceed individual and team revenue goals.
  • Plans and coordinates a variety of small and large/complex events and celebrations.
  • Develop marketing plans and evaluate trends to modify strategies that will enhance revenues effectively.  Assist in the production of the annual hotel business plan and budget.
  • Ensure proper communication to all departments.  Maintain a close working relationship with Director of Food & Beverage, Executive Chef and Banquet Manager.
  • Direct the catering sales effort to ensure revenue maximization with a working knowledge of food and beverage and understanding of kitchen and banquet service procedures.
  • Lead catering team to book, sell, plan and coordinate all events while insuring the highest level of customer service.
  • Develop catering menu pricing and banquet room minimums using current competitive data.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and ensure all appropriate information is communicated to ensure a successful event for the event planner and attendees.
  • Maintain positive working relations with preferred vendors and wedding planners.
  • Administer department payroll, ensuring accuracy of scheduling, corrections, and job coding.
  • Assist in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training Catering associates.
  • Ensures that all policies, procedures, and guidelines are followed by catering team.
  • Effectively coach and counsel associates as needed and complete performance evaluations.
  • Conduct monthly department/OST meetings.
  • Attend required company trainings.
  • Champion the Omni / Power of One culture.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 7 years of Hotel Sales/Catering experience working in upscale hotels/resorts required. College degree preferred.
  • Experience handling upscale social events/weddings is required.
  • Off-site experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal, with the ability to demonstrate warmth and empathy when engaging with others. 
  • Dynamic, enthusiastic, creative leader who thrives under pressure and can perform multiple functions and troubleshot when needed.
  • Must have proven selling, negotiating and presentation skills.
  • Highly developed customer service and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. Delphi experience preferred.
  • The ability to delegate, effectively train and coach.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including night, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

  • The ability to sit and utilize telephone/computer for an entire shift. 

Working Environment:

  •  Office environment with occasional travel around property.
