POSITION SUMMARY: Prescribes and adheres to the Villa Way of Kindness in all personal and professional interactions while on duty in and around the facility. The Painter demonstrates great customer service by mentoring Villa’s three core principles of Exceptional Care, Passionate Service and Unexpected Luxury in all his/her job duties and responsibilities. Under the direction of the Regional Maintenance Director, the Painter will apply paints, sealers, and solvents to exterior and interior building surfaces such as plaster, sheetrock, concrete, and wood. The Painter will also perform building exterior and interior caulking, finish repair, mud and tape, and texturing tasks. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Utilizes and maintains online reporting program according to Villa policy and procedure. • Travel to multiple Villa facilities in the SE Michigan Region. • Material ordering and pick up for each job. • Meet quality expectations and deadlines. • Clean and maintain paint supplies. • Prioritizes work orders. • Monitors work orders for completion on a timely basis. 2. Preventative Maintenance • Utilizes and follows the preventive maintenance schedules. • Keeps accurate records of maintenance performed. • Recommends building equipment improvements. • Performs periodic maintenance checks of building, facility and equipment; completes daily rounds with check list. • Keeps a current inventory of painting supplies, tools, equipment and stock. 3. Lifts and/or moves equipment, supplies, and furnishings as required. 4. Orders approved supplies, materials and equipment for the painting department within budgetary constraints. Purchases supplies and equipment using Villa procedures and approved vendors. 5. Completes forms and reports as required. Maintains records of all painting activities. 6. Complies with laws and regulations applicable to position and acts in accordance with Villa Health Services, Inc.’s Corporate Compliance Program. 7. Treats all residents, visitors, and staff with courtesy. 8. Follows facility dress and hygiene policies. 9. Safety • Knows and follows facility rules. • Demonstrates proper use of equipment. Reports equipment needs or repairs. • Follows facility smoking policies. • Reports and documents any incidents or accidents of residents, staff or visitors to the appropriate facility personnel. • Reports all hazardous conditions/equipment to Supervisor. 10.Resident Rights • • Knows Resident Rights. Helps the residents/patients exercise and/or protect their rights. • Reports resident/patient complaints to management. • Maintains confidentiality of resident/patient information. 11.HIPAA • Follows and adheres to Villa’s policies and procedures implementing HIPAA requirements for the privacy and security of protected health information. • Uses and/or discloses only minimum amount of Protected Health Information necessary to complete assigned tasks. (Applies only if position requires access to PHI under Role Based Access Grid.) • Reports all suspected violation of company’s HIPAA policies or procedures to Facility Privacy Designee. Assists in orientation and training of employees as assigned. 3. Performs other duties as assigned and consistent with the level of preparation and experience 4. Works overtime, holiday and weekend hours as scheduled. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • High School Diploma or equivalent. • 5 years commercial painting experience: Paint, mudding, drywall repair, wallpaper removal. • LTC experience preferred. Physical Demands: Primary activities involve driving, walking and talking. Involves sitting and standing. Travel: Up to 10% Working conditions: Primarily inside with well- lighted and well ventilated areas. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Must possess a current driver's license and be able to drive the Center's vehicles. Must be 18 years of age or older. Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and complete work with a minimum of supervision. Ability to relate positively, effectively and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other facility staff. Possess special interest in, and a positive attitude about, working with long-term care residents and the elderly. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Meets all health requirements, as required by law. Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications. ENVIRONMENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The responsibilities of this position involve significant physical activities including standing, lifting (up to 60 pounds unassisted), bending, stooping, pushing, pulling and twisting. All employees of nursing homes may be required to provide lifting and transfer assistance to residents. Lifting and/or transferring some residents will require use of a lifting device and /or assistance of other staff.
