Controller

Specific Job Function:

• Internal Controls; Lead month end closing process and ownership of general activities, including fixed assets, payroll processing, and system implementation & support.
• Oversee annual audit preparation, testing, and remediation for financial reporting, expenditures, revenue, and IT cycles.
• Liaise with Corporate Accounting as necessary.
• Provide daily supervision to AP/AR Specialist.
• Implement best practices/cadences/process improvements to ensure AR and AP requirements are completed in an efficient manner without errors.
• Responsible for performance management cycle, including annual goal setting, mid-year and year-end performance reviews, and ad hoc feedback and coaching.
• Improve engagement within the team; assist management in improving overall engagement throughout the business.
• Financial Analysis and Business Support; Perform financial analysis and monitor results to support operational excellence and lean enterprise initiatives, drive financial forecast updates, and lead expense management reviews
• Step beyond established role in accounting to further enhance overall business performance.
• Monitor capital expenditures for approved projects. Develop monthly cash flow forecasts.

Requirements:

• Detail oriented – verifies work to minimize errors. Work is completed timely and meets specification on first submission. Makes conscious effort to understand root cause and identify appropriate countermeasures for resolution.
• Technical proficiency – understands accounting principles and theory to effectively execute role. Recognizes attributes of a strong internal control environment. Follows policies and procedures
• Directs work – provides clear direction and guidance based on people’s capabilities. Delegates and intervenes to remove obstacles as necessary. Follows through to ensure individual accountability and completion

Key Skills and Qualifications:

• 5-7 years experience at a similar level, manufacturing experience preferred but not essential
• Bachelors degree & MBA / CPA preferred
• Proven experience in a Public Accountancy and / or Publicly Listed business preferred
• Established leadership skills through prior experience managing teams
• ERP System usage experience (SAGE preferred)
• Comprehension of standard costing and associated policies
• High proficiency in MS Excel
