What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vice President, Finance AS position at OMNOVA Solutions Inc?

The VP Finance is responsible for the financial strategy and oversight for Adhesive Solutions division. The VP Finance serves as the financial business partner for division’s senior leadership team and has the responsibility for all accounting, reporting, and analytics insuring one source of accurate information for all areas of the business. This position will work closely with the leadership team to execute the division's business plans and drive growth and profitability. It is vital that the VP, Finance be collaborative in developing and implementing financial strategies, partnering with many areas of the business, and owning results alongside the senior leadership team. KEY RESPONSIBLITIES Leading a team responsible for all business partnering needs for the AS division, including with $800MM sales: Monthly analysis of P&L, Cash Flow and Balance Sheet Leading annual budgeting process & 5 year plan development Cost center reviews with business leadership at all levels of commercial and operational organization Capex justification and tracking Product line margin management Innovation pipeline Partner with shared services Monthly closing – currently requires significant coordination efforts A/R collections (still pretty hands on here) Coordinate the creation of reporting packages Monthly reports Quarterly Business Reviews Board reporting Partner with VP/GMs to provide steering throughout monthly IBP process Demand reviews Inventory reduction initiatives Integrated review Evaluation and execution leadership of strategic projects (perhaps this changes if Ruud’s reporting lines will change) Manage risk register and ensure proper allocation of resources to manage/identify risks QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree, Finance, Accounting, Business, Operations, or related field preferred 15 years’ experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, cost accounting, strategy, mergers & acquisitions Comprehensive knowledge of accounting/finance concepts, principles, procedures, regulations and reporting requirements Self-starter, proactive, ability to prioritize and shift focus with ease and flexibility - excited to dive in, build quickly and drive output Excellent project management skills; ability to manage multiple projects of complex scope Experience with a finance and ERP systems SAP Experience in a manufacturing facility, chemical manufacturing preferred High proficiency in Microsoft Office Strong organization and time management skills to effectively manage work and multiple tasks to execute tasks in a timely manner with a sense of urgency Demonstrates a high degree of integrity and enforces and upholds all company policies Demonstrated leadership skills; ability to achieve results through others Excellent communication skills; demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, persuade and collaborate with business leaders, franchise owners and government representatives KEY ATTIBUTES: Strong financial analysis, including base accounting principles Working knowledge of business processes and key risks within functions – needed to provide value-add during “steering” roles of IBP process, capex reviews, innovation reviews, etc Ability to tell story via #’s – the complexity is high at the moment (perhaps always with this business)….easy to get stuck in the weeds and not able to communicate key themes up the chain Strong knowledge of what good looks like for key financial & IBP processes – business still in transition and continue process improvement are necessary Ability to understand business drivers – market factors, businesses value proposition, enabling technology, operations, etc Why Synthomer?
