Overview of the role:
As part of a new team to be based in Sydney, we are looking for a Senior Project Manager on a permanent contract. You will be responsible for leading the smooth delivery of work to our clients and delivering high-quality work on time and within budget. Working on a main clients account, you are responsible for delivering our projects and campaigns (both big and small), taking charge of client communications, scoping, costing, planning, delivery and financial management.
You are the glue that brings our diverse teams together around shared objectives. You will be managing several projects at a time, where the type of deliverable for the client can vary greatly - you could be delivering a video, web page or digital experience one day and strategic consultancy, messaging, or a suite of creative campaign assets the next.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading project delivery, working independently and proactively, to deliver high-quality work for clients
- Owning client relationships during the day-to-day delivery of projects
- Preparing estimates and time plans
- Taking complex briefs from clients and working with them and internal teams to shape the work, define the scope and agree budget/timelines for delivery
- Owning the financial management of the job including managing billing plans and working with our finance team to complete billing
- Understanding, and day-to-day management, of project profitability, maximising income from projects through good management and efficient delivery
- Demonstrating ability to act as an advisor to clients, rather than just implementing things for a client
- Build strong relationships with clients and internal teams
- Ensure agreed processes and agency systems are used
- Supporting the account directors to contribute to the growth of the accounts
- Understand the client’s business to add value to the delivery of projects by connecting the dots as appropriate with work across the client portfolio
- Recruit, onboard and mentor other project managers, including contractors if need be.
Essential Experience:
- 5-6 years agency experience working with large clients – experience working with global professional services clients is a bonus
- Experience of delivering a variety of projects including creative marketing campaigns, video and digital (websites, apps and digital experiences)
- Experience of taking projects from initial strategy and concepts through to asset creation across a range of asset types e.g. digital/social assets, sales materials/brochures, video, web pages
- A sound understanding of revenue, margins, utilisation and profitability, able to spot issues and identify solutions
- Able to scope, cost and plan detailed projects independently
- Ability to create and manage timelines inclusive of internal and client driven key dates
