What are the responsibilities and job description for the Finished Goods Inspector 1 position at OMRON?
SUMMARY
As an important member of our Quality team, the Finished Goods Inspector supports Quality and Manufacturing operations by ensuring our finished products meet quality standards and clients specifications. To this end, the Inspector will perform visual inspections, required measurements, identify and report on non-conformance, and support root cause analysis of the non-conformance of our finished products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Quality Assurance Inspection
- Inspect finished products prior to shipment against drawings and engineering specifications.
- Inspect equipment to ensure that all components adhere to unique customer specifications.
- Report all non-conformities to senior Quality and Production staff.
- Assist in root cause analysis investigations and corrective actions for nonconformance.
- Post and record all findings from final inspection.
- Work with the Production team and Engineering to resolve fabrication and engineering issues.
- Perform Quality review for completeness and correctness of inspection results and/or production records.
Quality Procedures
- Support the quality assurance procedures per ISO 9000 standards.
- Apply basic knowledge of software programs, and hardware trouble shooting to support the Lean manufacturing work cell continual improvement process.
- Work closely with Manufacturing, Applications, Design Engineering, and others on the Quality team to continually improve processes.

QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE
Basic Qualifications
- A two-year technical degree or the equivalent training and certifications
- Two years of relevant experience in high-tech electronics manufacturing with specific experience in quality control inspection.
- Demonstrated ability to learn advance measuring skills and tools such as GD&T
- Demonstrated ability to read both electrical and mechanical drawings
- Documented ability to understand and follow technical instructions drafted in English for testing or repairing electronic equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to work with delicate technical components in a manner that promotes safety and results in a high-quality product
- Proven competence in operating DMM’s, power supplies, hand tools, and various test equipment
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and deal effectively with conflicting priorities
- Documented task and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to learn advanced inspection skills so as to support the Receiving Inspectors
