Omron Automation Americas is looking for an experienced Repair Technician to join our Dallas, Texas team!
The Repair Technician will perform complex analysis and repair of industrial motion control circuit boards that customers send back for repair. This role will focus on repairs of circuit boards requiring experience in electrical board level repairs. Initial training on the supported technology will take place in California until the products are transferred to Dallas.

Responsibilities:
- Perform complex circuit analysis, troubleshoots and repairs completed PCBs.
- Conduct component level repair of PCBs to include soldering and de-soldering of through-hole and SMT components.
- Troubleshoot, repair and test industrial circuit boards in a very fast-paced environment and to the component level.
- Solve problems that might not have a clear solution. Demonstrate ability to leverage existing internal and external resources to solve problems.
- Utilize diagnostic tools to assess or monitor industrial circuit board systems to assist in troubleshooting and repair.
- Utilize small handheld tools such as screwdrivers, voltmeters, scope etc. during troubleshooting and repair of the circuit boards.
- The Technician will use BGA Rework station to remove and install BGA chips as part of repair.
- Must have the ability to read and understand schematics, wiring diagrams, meters, oscilloscopes, functional test simulators, soldering equipment, hand tools. To assist in troubleshooting the circuit board problem.
- Ability to document and prepare required reports and submit to Repair Supervisor & others.
- Support inbound and outbound shipment of equipment and accessories.
- Organize and maintain repair center equipment when applicable.
Requirements:
- Associates Degree (A.A.) in Electronics from a 2-year college or technical school, or equivalent military electronics school(s).
- A minimum of 5 years of strong troubleshooting experience with board level repairs and mechanical systems.
- Experience in industrial automation and motion control products a plus.
- The ability to troubleshoot PCB’s to component level using various test equipment.
- Use of power supplies, O-scopes, signal generators, DMM’s and frequency counters.
- The ability to read and comprehend electronic schematics / wiring diagrams.
- Experience setting up and conducting various intricate PCB test configurations using test leads and fixtures.
- Ability to analyze and interpret test data.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to sustain high board throughput, as needed, with accuracy, to satisfy customer needs.
- Fluent in English, proficiency in a second language a plus (Spanish, French or Portuguese preferred).
- Energetic, aggressive and focused.
- Good organization skills required.
- Ability to multitask, adapt on the fly, prioritize and change focus rapidly.
- Team player mentality but able to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Extreme attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal, listening, questioning and communication skills (written and oral).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- ESD: Knowledge of proper PCB board /component handling and ESD prevention practices.
