Insurance Coordinator - Community Oral Facial Surgery
Purpose:
The Insurance Coordinator is responsible for submitting dental insurance claims and predeterminations to dental insurance providers with necessary documentation, following up on predeterminations and unpaid claims, answering patient billing questions, maintain monthly billing statements and patient accounts, as well as tracking/managing accounts receivables.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure claims are submitted with accurate information.
- Submit electronic claims, and occasional paper claims.
- Contact medical and dental insurance companies for eligibility and benefits.
- Follow up on unpaid claims and predeterminations.
- Contact patients regarding payment obligations.
- Send collection notices as necessary.
- Back up front desk when needed.
Essential Skills Necessary:
- Effective written, verbal, and electronic communication that is professional in both content and delivery.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Must be able to work as a team member, to process information quickly and accurately, and possess a willingness to learn new skills.
- The position demands a mature and dependable attitude.
Minimum Skills Required:
- A minimum of 1 year of medical/dental experience is required.
