A Typical Day

As a Licensed Practical Nurse at On With Life, you become part of the journey each person served takes, making memories with them along the way. Our nurses play a key role in helping our persons served maintain the highest quality of life by providing direct and personalized care, supervising and mentoring Certified Nursing Assistants, and coordinating care with other members of the team. We are a unique non-traditional long term care program that cares for a variety of ages specializing in brain injury, spinal cord, and neurological conditions.

As a designated Top Workplace for over a decade, we understand the importance of work/life balance! This LPN position is a temporary hire for up to 4-months starting as early as 5/1/24, and due to its temporary nature, the starting wage is $38.43/hour for minimal experience.

This temporary full-time position is available for our 6a-6:30p and 6p-6:30a shifts, approximately 36 hours per week. Each full-time temporary schedule requires a holiday rotation (with special holiday pay), an every 3rd weekend rotation, as well as a weekend on-call rotation. As part of completing the application, you will be asked to specify the hours and shift you are interested in. IMPORTANT: Please note that our orientation process (typically the first 3-4 weeks for temporary positions) may require working days or shifts outside of what will be your typical schedule for the rest of your employment.

If available, permanent positions at our normal wage scale may be offered to exceptional nurses following successful completion of this temporary position.

Qualified Candidates Must Have

• Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of Iowa, and at least 1 year of LPN experience
• Please note that the federal government requires that our employees be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (first 2 doses), or request and receive an approved medical or religious exemption. We may not be able to proceed with employment if you cannot meet one of these requirements.
