Description
The Sanitation Associate is responsible for all activities involved in maintaining the cleanliness and food safe environment of the processing facility, surrounding area and equipment. The primary purpose of this job is to perform daily sanitation of all processing lines during 1st and 2nd shift and under the direction of the manager.
Responsibilities:
· Implements all GMP and HACCP procedures that relate to cleanliness, food safety and pest control within the facility.
· Maintain sanitation equipment in a clean and organized manner.
· Maintains a supply of cleaning chemicals necessary for the operation of the cleaning program and in compliance with OSHA and FDA regulations.
· Follow line-specific cleaning and sanitation instructions (SOPs).
· Activate cleaning equipment or machines.
· Disassembling and cleaning food-processing equipment.
· Reassemble production equipment for cleaning.
· Ensures safety is a priority in day-to-day functions.
· Carry out documented sanitation programs (master sanitation schedule).
· Keep accurate and timely documentation of cleaning performed.
· Proficient at routine preventative maintenance as well as changeovers.
· Must be able to communicate with supervisors, co-workers and other departments.
· Performs light maintenance duties as assigned by the manager (i.e., replacement of light bulbs, collecting recyclable materials, paper and shrink wrap outside collection pickup, checking freezer and cooler for leaks or ice buildup, etc.).
· Training current and new employees on good Sanitary Practice and Operation.
· Promotes a safe work environment through knowledge of the sanitation program and commitment to a safe workplace for all.
· Attends all company training sessions and team meetings.
· Additional responsibilities as assigned by manager.
