Summary
The Technology Inventory Specialist has responsibility for ensuring compliance with all applicable material management processes, and SOX requirements for the Telecommunications storerooms. This role determines and prioritizes which jobs will be kitted or filled internally or externally. This role also 1) has direct interaction with suppliers, project managers and vendors to determine needs, 2) maintains appropriate inventory levels, and 3)ensures company, environmental and SOX records are completed timely and filed according to regulations.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Directly or through others, the incumbent:
- Accurately completes, files, and maintains required company , SOX, and environmental data
- Maintains, controls, and accounts for material inventory and provides emergency support as required
- Stocks received material, supplies, and equipment in proper storage location(s) in the storeroom or service center yard through the use of forklifts, loading machines, and hand or motor operated equipment
- Establishes plans for the ordering and timely arrival of materials in support of construction and maintenance activities
- Prepares requisitions for the purchase of materials and supplies needed to maintain minimum stock levels
- Organizes the warehouse to operate in the most efficient and cost effective manner
- Maintains the storeroom and service center yard in a safe, orderly condition and safeguards the material from deterioration or loss
- Conducts monthly stores inventory and provides reports on inventory levels as needed
- Participates in weekly planning and scheduling meetings to ensure material needs are met for various projects and operational needs
- Effectively communicates with vendors, contractors, and stakeholders on material requirements as well as other storeroom personnel to establish an environment of teamwork
- Arranges job site deliveries and transfers to other warehouses, storerooms, job sites, etc, as needed
- Provides daily support of field personnel involved in completing orders and addressing trouble calls
- Processes material orders and researches past due material orders
- Processes damage claims and assists in the return merchandise authorization (RMA) process with vendors on items to be returned and / or repaired
- Packages and processes equipment requests as well as updates employee manuals and other office documents
- Handles direct customer contacts including communication of company policy and practices
- Gathers and disseminates pertinent information in a timely and effective manner
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, & Skills
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required
- Must be proficient with the MS Office suite including Outlook, Excel and Word
- Must be proficient in the use of asset management systems.
- Demonstrates knowledge of Safety Handbook procedures
- Must be forklift operation certified or demonstrates the ability to become certified
