Job Overview

The primary function of Business Development is to identify, prospect and grow new business opportunities of the I&R solution area leveraging the product portfolio. This role requires experience selling technology solutions (B2B & SaaS preferred) including but not limited to, being fully versed on products, demos and support of responding to Requests for Proposals (RFP), Requests for Information (RFI), and information or product capabilities requests.


Scope of Work

  • Works collaboratively with subject matter experts across all areas and levels of the organization, as well as geographically diverse teams
  • Follows-up on inbound leads, develop relationships and create proposals to close deals
  • Manages contacts in Netsuite and/or CRM records to manage pipeline and achieve quota goals
  • Attends appointments, trade shows and other pre sales activities
  • Works with the VP, Strategic Marketing to report weekly, monthly and quarterly goal progress
  • Becomes an expert in I&R products to recommend the ideal solution for new clients
  • Interacts with product team to understand the ongoing release development for those products


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related degree or combination of equivalent education and experience
  • 1-3 years of related experience required
  • Prior experience with a software company or sales enablement for a company in the technology vertical
  • Accustomed to sales driven organization. Formal sales support or proposal industry training, experience of certification
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Adobe Acrobat
  • Ability to conduct live demos
  • Strong communication and messaging skills will be needed for in person or virtual presentations
  • Knowledge of Sales Enablement Resource
  • Demonstrated high attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication

Exercises independent judgement on moderately complex areas. Decisions have moderate impact in assigned area and requires coordination across other areas.


Teamwork and Leadership

Regularly takes informal leadership role during team meetings and/or projects. Works under minimal supervision and may provide work direction and/or training to lesser experienced employees.
