What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Bartender/Keyholder position at One Allegiance Brewing?
One Allegiance Brewing is a growing brewery located in Chicago Ridge, IL. We are hiring for an enthusiastic lead bartender who loves craft beer and has prior bar keyholder experience. Bartenders are typically responsible for pouring and serving craft beer, preparing cocktails according to recipe, managing the staff behind the bar, all the while maintaining a fun and relaxed attitude and keeping our customers’ glasses full! You will be responsible for opening and closing duties, supervising scheduled shifts while ensuring that customers have a great experience.
Here’s what we’re looking for from you:
- During your scheduled shifts you will act as keyholder, overseeing the entire taproom operation
- Have an extensive knowledge of craft beer and the brewing process
- Maintain a clean workspace, bar and taproom
- Fill crowlers and growlers and label them appropriately
- Ability to change keg and operate foam-on-beer (FOB) detector
- Ability to multitask calmly and effectively in a busy environment and the ability to work in a confined, crowded space
- Elevates staff morale and sets an example of proper business conduct
- Train newly hired staff members and current staff through on-going feedback and coaching
- Proactively manages operations during scheduled shifts that include daily decision-making, staff support, customer interaction, product quality, cleanliness, and
- Opening and closing duties of the bar including balancing cash drawers, running close of day reports and communicate with management important notes, trends, etc. through daily log
- Frequently interacts with customers to ensure that they are receiving top-notch service, and follows-up on any complaints or issues
- Ensures beverage quality by maintaining high levels of cleanliness, organization, storage, and sanitation
General requirements:
- 1 years of hospitality/service industry experience
- Able to frequently move and/or lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally move and/or lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for an extended period of time
- Available to work a variety of hours, days and shifts, especially weekends
- Safely and effectively use and operate all necessary tools and equipment, including knives and blenders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in basic computer skills, office applications, and email
- Ability to use Microsoft Office effectively and productively along with other graphic design platforms such as Canva
- Willingness to participate in and contribute ideas to various social media activities and campaigns
Preferences:
- Certifications (Basset certification, cicerone certification(s))
- Prior brewery or bar lead experience, specifically with managerial experience
- Flexible schedule, including weekends, late nights, and holidays
Hourly pay is commensurate with experience.
